Peruva started as a small garage in San Rafael that could only fit one vehicle at a time operated by Luis Arcos, the President.
He started falling in love with vehicles when he was kid. Close to his house used to have an auto shop, he used to stop by everyday to see the mechanic working on the cars and he was amazed by the complexity that was to fix a vehicle. One day when he was 12 years old, he saw a mechanic having a really hard time to replace a part and he came up to the mechanic and asked why he was struggling so much, the mechanic said it was because he never went to school. On that day Luis decided that he was going to go to school to become a successful mechanic, but because he was 12, he couldn’t, so he learned by watching the mechanics and by training on his families’ cars. By the age of 16 he went to an automobile mechanic school in Lima for 3 years, there he learned about engines and transmission, and by the age of 19 he was graduated and ready to do start working on major jobs.
In 1990 he came to the United States and started working at the Rino Gas Station in Fairfax, there he made friends and learned even more.
The automotive industry is very complex and there is so much you can learn every single day.
Over the years he earned the trust and the friendship of many customers. Now Peruva is in 3 towns in Marin County, San Rafael, Fairfax and Sausalito.
